2025 Statement of Financial Condition
Client: First Federal Bank of Kansas City
First Federal Bank of Kansas City is the largest independent mutual bank in the Midwest — an institution with deep roots in community-first banking and a forward-looking expansion into banking-as-a-service (BaaS) and commercial lending. For their 2025 Statement of Financial Condition, they needed a print piece that honored that dual identity: grounded and trustworthy, yet modern and growth-oriented.

The deliverable is an 11×17 folded brochure designed for print distribution to board members at the bank's annual board meeting. The layout balances dense financial data — a consolidated balance sheet, regulatory capital tables, and leadership rosters — with the warmth and approachability that defines FFBKC's brand. Clean typographic hierarchy, structured data tables, and editorial photography work together to make a document that is both rigorous and readable.

Beyond the print-ready PDF, the project included a full source file handoff: packaged InDesign files with all fonts and linked assets, simplified for use by the client's internal team. The project went from signed estimate to printed and delivered copies in under four weeks — coordinated with a commercial printer for a 100-copy run delivered ahead of the board meeting deadline.

Challenges:
Financial data that reads, not just renders. The consolidated balance sheet and regulatory capital tables required multiple revision passes — line items were restructured mid-project, with certain asset and liability categories consolidated into "Other" rows and two equity lines collapsed into a single Total Equity figure. Maintaining visual consistency and alignment through those structural changes without rebuilding tables from scratch took careful InDesign table management.
